“To see in color is a delight for the eye, but to see in black and white is a delight for the soul.” – Andri Cauldwell
Monday is here and I am grateful for all the kind words everyone has offered these last couple of months as I’ve worked to get my photography blog off the ground and out for the world to see. Thank you to all who’ve offered encouraging comments.
Even though I have a background with black and white film I find I do very little black and white with my digital images. It’s a shame because I loved the years I had my own darkroom. I can still smell the chemicals (especially the stop bath) and I can still remember the thrill of seeing my image develop while the photo paper soaked in the tray.
This may or may not become a regular thing but for today, Monochrome Monday, I present one image that I “developed” recently from a photograph I created a couple of years ago. Despite some blown out highlights, I’m happy with how this image turned out.

Comments, critiques and even criticisms are welcome. Thank you for your support.
Gorgeous image, Lane – there’s such intelligence in those eyes.

It’s funny you’d say that because I thought the same thing as I was shooting the photo. Thank you Eliza.
