“I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.” – Henry David Thoreau
Fall is in the air. The nights and mornings are crisp. The leaves are changing and everywhere I go I see pumpkins. They are in gardens, and on doorsteps as ornaments. They are in the houses of family and friends. Pumpkin spice is now the go to flavor for lattes, candles and ice cream shakes.
As a photographer, the pumpkin makes a perfect subject. It’s variety of beautiful colors and textures are rich in photographic possibilities, especially as you try to find the right light.
In honor of Fall and the pumpkin here are a few images I’ve created recently. I hope you enjoy them.
All of these images were created with my Fuji cameras and lenses. If you haven’t used Fujifilm I highly recommend the system. I love the cameras and the lenses, but mostly I love the images this system can help me create.
I welcome your comments, your critiques and even your criticisms.
Terrific images, Lane. They welcome autumn with their vibrant colors and light. Agree about Fuji!
